Interesting Facts About Myself
My most frequently asked questions -
Q: " If you could be on what TV game show, what would it be?"
A: I would love to be on "The Price Is Right", it's the best game show ever made.
Q: " Where did the name 'Tybee Hatteras' come from?, Did you every live on Hatteras Island?"
A: Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely *LOVE* lighthouses - and many lighthouses have pretty nice, unique names. Tybee Island is a city in Georgia were one of my favorite a lighthouses are, and Cape Hatteras is America's most famous light - so the choice was natural.(duh)
Q: " Why do you love lighthouses so much? What's so special about them?" location
A: Well that's a good question...There is something very attractive and romantic about lighthouses - maybe it's because they're beautiful ocean location or because of their fascinating history - or simply because they alert the interest in certain folk. That's one question I really can't explain, you either like them or you don't. As for lighthouses being special, well that's simple - they were greatly needed back in the old days for sailors at sea, they were a lost fisherman's guiding light at sea - lighthouses have saved many people. Too bad their usefulness is almost near zero, now most boats and ships have GPS navagation. I know lots about lighthouses, because I used to volunteer at one. But the interest of them can be addictive, since they're so many lights to see and learn about, not just in America - but worldwide.
Q: "How old are you really?"
A: I'm forever 42!!! (no, not really - but I wish was) I'm 118 years young.
Q: "Why aren't you interested in joining the Coast Gaurd anymore?"
A: Because it's too stressful and demanding. Everyone who joins has to go through "Basic training" that is physically tough and uncomfortable. It's not like you can just join to *only* work and stay at lighthouses. Besides the Coast Guard is selling many of their old beacons to historical societies and cities (rarely to people for personal ownership), because there isn't much need for them today - but mostly because lighthouses are very exspensive to keep up. And the Light I wanted to work at in the USCG (New Cape Henry, VA - not the one on the left) might be sold. Oh, well....
Q: "I don't believe your age, it's impossible to be that old...."
A: Yeah, it's not that common to hear about someone this old and still living a normal life - but anything is possible if you believe in God! - actually something strange happend years ago that stopped my aging.... it's kind of hard to explain....LOL
Q: "Why do you hate chocolate?..."
A: To me, chocolate is absolutely NASTY - by the way is smells, how it looks and not to mention the awful taste... - Certainly one food that's avoided.
Q: "Have you meet the President before?"
A: A few years ago, there was an event in Washington which I did attend and saw (from a distance) ex-president Clinton. As for a 'face-to-face' meeting with one - no.
Q: "Were in in Washington, D.C. on 9-11-01?
A: Yes, it's a very SAD day I'll never forget.
Q: "Are you From Philadelphia, PA?"
A: No.
Q: "What are your goals for a career in real estate?"
A: I'd like to become a real estate broker after a few years as an agent. It takes a lot of training, learning of state laws and you have to be licensed for this job. It's a lot more than just driving customers around all day looking at houses! You have to be very self motivated and social.
Q: "Do you own a pink Cadillac?"
A: No, at least not yet. I'm now searching Ebay and other Internet antique car dealerships for a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. If I can't find a "pink" one, I'll get one in another color and have it custom painted later. I only desire to drive an 'antique' car, even if it's not a Cadillac. I'm very picky about cars. It can be hard looking for a kick ass retro ride!
